Sue Ryder Brontë Half Marathon 2026 returns this September with a hilly 13.1 mile trail challenge through the heart of Brontë Country, raising vital funds for Sue Ryder’s expert care.
Taking place on 20 September 2026, the race starts at 9am from Race HQ at Penistone Hill Country Park, Haworth.
The single lap route winds between Haworth and Hebden Bridge, crossing moorland, tracks and country roads in the stunning surroundings of Oxenhope and Brontë Country 🏃♀️🌄
Following fantastic reviews in its debut year, this multi terrain event is back with space for just 200 runners.

Ride vs Stride challenge
For nearly two decades this landscape has hosted the Brontë Mountain Bike event. With signs out, feed stations ready and pie and peas steaming at the finish, runners are invited to join the action.
If you know someone tackling the Charlotte route in the bike challenge, there are bragging rights up for grabs. Can you complete your half marathon before they finish twice the distance on two wheels?

Entry is £17, with on the day entry available for an additional £5 if places remain.
The minimum age to take part is 16, with under 18s requiring parental or guardian consent.
The course includes roads, paths and tracks, with marshals at crossings. Only one road will be closed, so runners must follow all instructions on the day for safety.
